There may or may not be a job opportunity in W-S for me and am just doing some basic searching.

Neighborhoods to avoid?

How is the area around Wake Forest?

Most of the area around Wake Forest is fine.

The main thing to watch for in older neighborhoods near Wake Forest would be houses rented by groups of students. The school has been pretty strict in recent years about disruptive partying (based on what I've occasionally read in the newspaper), but I don't know how much control they have off-campus.

Glad you posted that. I was gonna mention that as the only drawback...but I haven't heard much about anything newsworthy that's happened in the student-dominated areas around Wake. There was I time, years ago, where something was happening that made news periodically.
