Hi. I'm a student transferring to UNCG in the fall but unfamiliar with the area.

What are some companies that offer decent hourly wages for part-timers?

For example, Trader Joe's here in WS will start off cashiers at $12/hr. Hobby Lobby has also apparently raised their minimum wage to $14/hr and I know there's one in Greensboro.

I just have the generic retail/restaurant experience but also open to warehouse or temp. work.

Thanks

I hear Costco pays better than their competition.

You're right. For just pushing carts in the parking lot it's $11/hr. Costco might be the best retail chain store to work at, but since the turnover rate is so low there's only one hiring season - at the end of each year. Unless I'm wrong? Do they actively hire throughout the year?

It's my understanding it is very hard to get onboard with Costco since they are such a desirable company to work for. But I have no knowledge when they do hiring.

At one time, my stepson was looking into UPS - don't know if that's something you'd be interested in.

Whole Foods Market has a decent pay scale and is an awesome place to work based on a few friends experiences. However it's not easy to get in with them either, so I've heard.
