I have a job offer on the table that would have me working in Reidsville, NC. My husband would hopefully be able to find a job in Greensboro (he has a career history with our local telephone company). Neither of us wish to commute more than 30 minutes. We also have small kids who would be in school. I'm looking for advice on which communities we should look into.

We currently live in the country, just outside of a very small town, and approx 30 min from a large city. I am perfectly fine with a similar arrangement in NC. I have no need for crazy amounts of entertainment or big box stores. We mostly want outdoor spaces for camping, hiking, and kayaking in a safe area with decent schools.

Any suggestions?

The best schools in the area feed into Northwest or Northern Guilford. Consider Summerfield, Oak Ridge.

There are also small communities like Bethany that you would love between Greensboro and Reidsville.

(Bethany has a popular charter school also)

It depends a lot where your husband would be working. A lot of the new jobs are along 68 south of the airport.

The north side of Summerfield is a good place, you could also look at the areas close to downtown Greensboro, using HWY 29 as your commute corridor. I am a Realtor, you are welcome to private message me if you have any questions.

Thanks everyone. We're coming in Thursday to explore the area. Hoping to find more rentals in the Reidsville area in real life than I've been able to find on the internet!
