Not a good look for this project.
It's been a very complex deal and the Cone Denim situation didn't help. So its not surprising that the project has dragged. But it is inaccurate that there are no new updates. A few weeks ago the city said construction will begin on the Westin late spring around the same time construction on the ballpark office building will begin. But I agree that the whole process has been terrible. This is the first such public-private partnership project in downtown Greensboro and city leaders were kind of learning there way through the process. By contrast the Hampton Inn and its adjoining deck is being built privately and it got off the ground rather quick. The more parties involved in a project the more complex it is.
