My sources in Swepsonville and Saxapahaw are reporting thunder and lightening. We all know what that means!

I might be ready for snow next week, but would prefer it wait until Christmas.

Historically, it's not all that accurate a predictor: Thunder in winter, snow 7-10 days later? | News - WCTI NewsChannel 12
Quote:
We did some research and found from the 1940's up until this winter, snow followed thunder within seven to ten days about one out of seven times, an accuracy of 14% over the past 64 years.

Wow your good it is Raining. Thunder and Lightening means rain and its raining.

Sorry, couldnt resist. If the prediction is right if the snow comes over the mountains, no worries except a day maybe, but if it looks like a Nor-easter or moisture comes from the Gulf, have backup office holiday party plans and shop online.

Sue, I'll check my Saxy sources, but I haven't heard any thunder here in Chapelboro. Plenty of hard rain, though. We had a massive ice storm December 4, 2002, so there is precedent...

It's colder than a polar bear's toenail. Did not get above freezing the entire day at my house in North Winston-Salem.
