Hey guys,

This is definitely going to be a long story told short. When I was 4 I was hit by a car. Mother went to court there was an lawsuit involved. I ended up with a trust fund and annuity that I couldn't touch until I turned 18.

I'm 22 years old now and was going through some old paper work. I came across 2 different 1099-int forms. One from first citizen's and one for Wacovia both from the same year (2002) and with different account numbers.

First citizens are the ones who held my trust fund, my annuity is through symetra financial. But I cannot find out what this Wachovia account is for. I called them and they don't have that account number. But at some point it must have existed. Also the mailing address is to courthouse in greensboro. The clerk of court is where my trust fund was held. But this Wachovia statement refers to "certificate" rather than "clerk of court" like the first citizens bank did. What should I do?

I called them and... What should I do?
Go in person.

Walk into a Wachovia branch.
Ask for the manager.
Show them the 1099-int with your name on it.
Show them your drivers license.

Ask directly.
Who opened it? When?
And the current status of the account

^^^^^THIS You never accomplish anything over the phone. Aside from that just let your accountant deal with it come tax time.

At the risk of nit picking that would be Wells Fargo.
To the OP: the Wachovia/Wells Fargo account may not be relevant to you and that 1099 was misplaced.
