I'm looking for a do-it-yourself hotpot place that basically gives you the pot of soup/broth and a bunch of yummy ingredients to drop in there. Or a decently authentic dimsum place with a good sanitation score.

I recently moved here from a bigger city and after a few months of fruitless searching, I'm dying for some real Asian food! (Don't get me wrong, the Thai restaurants here are delicious)

Thank you in advance for any recommendations or tips!

I would also like to know.
There have been some attempts on the part of some vietnamese restaurants to do the dim sum thing.
Definitely not seen the hot pot joints around here at all, though i know they are very popular elsewhere.

Most of the Chinese places lean toward buffet, with all the usual suspects.
I've heard alot of good things about Szechuan Palace in Winston Salem.
While not dim sum or hot pot.. Its a menu place with better prepared traditional american chinese and perhaps other stuff.

The Phoenix in Greensboro is pretty good. Its kinda like a local PF Changs. You might need to bring your own sriracha though.

China's Best in Greensboro is supposed to be NYC take out style.

Red Bowl Asian Bistro is another place like the phoenix in Burlington. I was impressed with the place, more casual than the phoenix, portions were big, prices reasonable.

Van Loi 2 in Greensboro is technically a viet place. when they opened they had a take away chinese bbq counter in there.
not sure if they are still doing that, haven't been in quite a while.

Li Ming Global Mart in Greensboro has a restaurant inside with a chinese bakery.

Bahn mi in Greensboro is another interesting Viet baguette sub shop.

Greensboro seems to have a larger SE Asian community, which is reflected in the restaurants.

Having said that, I've heard if you want good Chinese, you have to go to Raleigh.

I like Binh Minh and the Pho place on Spring Garden. No hotpot or dim sum, but really good Vietnamese.
