I can't believe the pictures didn't include the Waving Santa! Greensboro, NC - Mechanical Santa Claus

Friendly Center is our favorite place to stretch legs and get a bite to eat on our way to SC!

Isn't that santa 40 plus years old? I know it was there when I was a boy in the 1980s.

Developer to submit new plans for former "Trader Joe's" site on Hobbs Rd next to Friendly Center. Instead of a 100% commercial development, There would be a grocery store, bank, high end retail and multi-story high end condos.

So the grocery size option of 13,000 square feet is about the size of Trader Joe's and the other option of 28,000 square feet is about the size of a Southern Season or Fresh Market.

There is a small field of weeds and disheveled decking on one of the corners of Northline and Hobbs that serves as a reminder of a condo project gone bust.
The current plan submitted by the developer is not original or unique. It's still grocery and retail in an area that doesn't need it.

So glad you've brought this up. Complete eyesore--really irks me to see it.

Right? The construction office finally disappeared but the dilapidated decking was left behind. Have you noticed if it is still there?
