Hello,

My husbands job transferred him to Winston-Salem and we're looking for a house under $150,000. Our dream home would be in a wooded area surrounded by trees. It would feel cozy but not isolated, safe with low crime and no more than 10 minutes from most shopping. We've been looking in Clemmons and Kernersville but arent finding any hilly areas. Could anyone suggest towns within a 30 mile radius where we might look?

Thank you in advance for help you can provide. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

In addition to King and Pilot Mountain (which are great suggestions) I'd suggest Mt. Airy, Germanton, Danbury (might push your 30 minute limit) and Walnut Cove.

This describes almost any house on almost any street in Winston.
The main variable is the LOT size.

Have you visited in person? Or have you mostly been "Google-walking"? Because I'd say that most of Winston fits the bill for you (more than most places).
