Developer Marty Kotis want to put a beer garden in a forgotten part of downtown Greensboro which has great potential. The southwest section of downtown Greensboro bound by Eugene St to the east, the railroad tracks to the north, Freeman Mill Rd to the west and Lee Street to the south, is truly a dead part of downtown. But that is starting to change. I would like to see the downtown university campus/district expand in this part of downtown.

The side of the bus says Carolina American, which apparently was a charter/rental bus company in Greensboro: Carolina American Tours - Downtown - Greensboro, NC | Yelp

I'm excited for the beer garden. I'm surprised these aren't more common down south. They're a summertime favorite in NYC, Chicago, etc., and I've heard that really good ones have popped up in Nashville, Atlanta, Austin, and other hotbeds of "hip" in the south.

I attend the Summertime Brewsfest every year at the coliseum. Why? Because it's inside. For me it's just too damn hot to have a beer fest outside, in the south, from June- September. Tanglewood did that one time in August and the organizers caught holy hell for it too.

A lot of people probably feel that way, but you're telling me nobody drinks outside in the summer in Greensboro? Plenty of places have patios and decks full of people who'd say otherwise, and some shade, some fans, and the right entertainment would go a long way.
