We are looking to relocate to the Greensboro area and my husband is looking at a possible job in McLeansville. He would like to keep his commute to a maximum of 30 minutes but would prefer 20 or less. We have 3 kids so schools are important, especially middle and high schools. From what I've seen, Northeastern schools are highly rated as well as Northern. I'm sure there are other good schools as well but I haven't researched deeply yet. We need a 4 bedroom, would like some property (at least 3/4 acre) and our budget is about 250,000 but we would go up to 300,000 for the perfect fit. We are also open to being outside Guilford County if all our criteria is met. Any suggestions on where we should be looking? Thanks!

hmmm..Northeast High School is not highly rated. I would not rate it as safe either.

Here is a link to a "report" card for Guilford County Schools.

News-Record.com: School Performance 2013-2014

If you search other places you can find average SAT, graduation rate etc.

You'll have no trouble finding a house in a good area in the price range you referenced, there are lots of Greensboro neighborhoods in that price range and many houses for sale right now due to low interest rates and springtime nice weather . For a 30 minute commute to Mcleansville that keeps most of the city and surrounding areas within your commute parameters.

Browse some of the other Greensboro relocation threads on this forum and you'll see many neighborhoods mentioned as well as input on schools, etc.
