Greensboro lands the inaugural 2016 USA Masters Games. It's a 10 day Olympic style event represented by numerous sports and is expected to draw over 10,000 athletes from around the country. This could be televised nationally.

I heard that Washington DC will host the ACC tournament in 2016. Do you know if this will be ongoing for years to come or just for 2016 only?

If memory serves me correctly the ACC tournament will "travel" for the next five years before returning to Greensboro. I think this is the men's basketball only.

I think it's great Greensboro can land events such as this while the ACC tournament is not being held here. I think it shows that the nickname Tournament Town is not some gimmick.

Makes sense. Its good to host a variety of tournaments and events to continue to build up to that nickname.

I get other venues want to benefit from the tourney, but I'm selfish and not only is Greensboro home of the ACC it is pretty central for the teams.
