Whatever the Triad is or isn't, it's still 2 separate primary cities that don't work well in harmony together because of simple competition. Anyway, the Texas Pete relocaton isn't really much of a blip on the Triad's radar, but it's a great win for downtown Winston-Salem to have one if its iconic brands located downtown. It's much more appropriate in this thread than in a "Triad" thread. If someone wants to argue about it then I guess he's welcome to it.

I agree. It is great news not just for Winston Salem but for downtown Winston Salem.

Funny, I was just thinking that if Texas Pete were moving to Greensboro someone would have created a whole thread about it with speculations about what it could mean for the city. I bet they would even include images of skyscrapers and claim something just like that could be built for Texas Pete.

Competition for what exactly? When is the last time a corporate relocation project of any size had Greensboro and Winston-Salem on their list of final potential cities? The competition only exists in people's minds. The triad would be much stronger if cooperation replaced competition in the minds of our leadership. It amazes me that after 30 years of lip service, no such cooperation exists.

And you want to address me, why don't you grow a pair and do it directly.

I love this project. It looks very classy and livable, much more so than I had imagined it would.

According to Triad City Beat, a new brewery is headed to downtown WS.

Wise Man Brewing was originally planning on opening in the Gate City Motors development in Greensboro, but after that fell through, the brewers (who live in Oak Ridge) were reportedly looking for a new location. They'd been looking in both cities, though, and ultimately found the right fit with the Angelo Brothers building, located near Ziggy's.

Winston wins: Wise Man Brewing announces location | Triad City Beat

That part of downtown is really cranking up, with Mary's, Mission Pizza, Broad Branch Distillery, Camel City BBQ, the new Artivity park, etc. Wise Man will add a lot to it.

Winston-Salem's brewery scene is really enviable!

Winston Salem is getting a one day development. Sorry it one day event so I figure I would post here especially for those looking for a cool splash.

On August 22nd a company is bringing 1,000 ft water slide to South Main Street in the Washington Park neighborhood.

There will be music and food vendors
