Any suggestion??? Just moved into this area. Heard AIG programs in public schools are pretty good. But also heard the private schools in the area are pretty strong. If not to consider the tuition price in private school, which will be better for kid? Thanks

What "area"? Lots of good public schools, but it matters what county you're in, and it matters what school district you're in. What elementary school are you assigned to?

In Winston-Salem, every elementary school offers AG classes in grades 3 - 5.

^ You won't find any better than Morgan, Clemmons Elementary, Lewisville, or Southwest. All are very good, and certainly as good or better than any private school options.

Thanks a lot, Arbyunc. Everyone around me has been talking about how good Forsyth Day school is. Meanwhile, I don't want my daughter to miss the "advanced" education in AIG in Morgan. So have been hesitating.

Country Day is a good school, but for what you pay it's not worth it because your kids will get a fantastic education at the public schools in this area. Of course, there is the fact that Country Day is over 90% white. For me, public schools offer a tremendous advantage in providing socialization opportunities with a cross-section of society. I think it makes kids more rounded, and gives the fortunate ones a better perspective on their station in life. Others may feel differently about that.
