In today's crazy real estate sales market, and with the downsizing that has occurred too much in the central NC area, I'd say rental houses are becoming more and more plentiful. After 15 years, we moved from not far outside Greensboro recently to another state.

With the various colleges in the area, and I-85 and I-40 splitting in Greensboro (not to mention U.S. 29 and U.S. 220/future I-73/74) all intersecting in Greensboro, the city is looking at many changes in the next few years. I won't say if all will be an improvement, but change is in the wind! You will find certain areas that have a higher concentration of rentals than others... search carefully as some rents will appear more out of line than others. And remember, the closer you get to any of the college campuses, the more out of line the prices will be. On campus housing shortages abound, no matter how fast they try to build more dorms.

I'm sure I gave way too much of an answer; hope it is all (or mostly) helpful!

Mary
