I've been looking for a church to visit for Sunday services in Greensboro. I attended the services at a couple of churches in town, but most people there were families or with kids, which made singles (like myself) a bit uncomfortable and isolated (plus I have never been a christian in my life and an introvert).

I prefer a denominational church with a traditional service and music to a contemporary service with a contemporary music and/or a non denominational church, although some single friends of mine enjoy a large non-denominational church (Westover). But, I understand I cannot be too particular, so any recommendations are appreciated.

Why not go to church with your single friends? You won't be isolated.

I would think any of the traditional "First" denominational churches would be large enough to have a singles ministry... e.g. First Baptist, First Presbyterian, First Methodist. I'm sure all of them have websites you could google.

I go to Westover. Absolutely love the church, and they have a great singles program there. You should give it a shot. You don't necessarily have to attend the church services to be a part of their singles group from what I understand. When my wife was single, she attended the singles group while still attending a Catholic church with her parents.

I'm a single 57 year old and think it's rather rash to comment 'someone is on the prowl' simply because they are seeking a church where there are singles. I have found it very difficult to find friends where I currently live due to most churches being family oriented. It has nothing to do with being on the prowl, I can assure you that. We singles just want other Christians to fellowship with and have a sense of community.....and that is sometimes hard with families who sometimes easily connect due to similar phases of life they are in.

Check out College Park Baptist. Lots of young people, very open minded and diverse, yet still has the traditional hymns and whatnot.
