I've been doing research on apts. I want to know where the really high crime areas of the Triad are. I know all three cities have problem areas. What are the areas to avoid as far as crime goes in all three cities? Any surburbs to watch out for?

Here are the stats for Greensboro-

2006 Crime Statistics (http://www.greensboro-nc.gov/departments/Police/Statistics/ - broken link)

I can't speak for any other place but the triad, and I can only say that there are places in town you may want to avoid but I wouldn't avoid a whole town.

Good luck!

In Winston Salem at night vigilant in the downtown at night.
Be cautious between 1st Street and Clemmonsville Road and that portion of Main Street.

In High Point be somewhat cautious downtown between East Lexinton Ave and East Kivett Drive.
Be very vigilant between West Ward Avenue and Buisness 85

Greensboro downtown should feel ok but be extremely vigilant pass Lee Street and Willow Lake Area There is rail road tracks once yuu cross over Washington St on Elm St heading out of downtown that is a good time to be vigilant.

Default Nice Greensboro Area

I used to live at the Cardinal Apartments in Greensboro NC, near the PTI airport. It was beautiful, the apts clean and the rent very low. 2-yrs ago we paid $585. for a 1-bedroom that included a washer/dryer. Its a little off the beaten path but it is between Highpoint and Downtown Greensboro. Not too, too far from Wendover where all the shopping stores are. We saw a hummingbird right outside our window once. Also at the Lowes grocery store (so close you could walk) is a fire station. One day the firemen were crossing the lot to go the the store and as I was strolling with my cart they said: "we'll put that away for you ma'm'! Oh, I though...chivalry is not dead.
I miss that place a lot. Lots of luck to you.
