I noticed Food Lion #2676, located at 3574 Drawbridge Parkway, Greensboro, North Carolina 27410-8432, has closed recently. It was the only Food Lion store in Guilford County with a pharmacy.

The original tenant was Bi-Lo #209. It closed sometime in early 2005 when Bi-Lo exited Greensboro by divesting or closing stores.

Hey Knight,

I live relatively close to here. Though I'm more of a Harris Teeter person and didn't frequent this store often, I was really disappointed to this this whole development dry up (this and the KFC outparcel). Fingers crossed that the beltway and its Battleground exit will help breathe life back into this center!

Was Wendy's the outparcel?

After Bi-Lo #209 and Food Lion #2676, I wonder if the retail center has seen the last of supermarket uses. Indeed it is a good location with access to and from Interstate 840. I do not know if it would be the ideal location for another supermarket like Publix to locate a future store.

I WAS a HT person until I went into the Taj on Senior Citizen day and some nut came in with a shotgun. Turns out Kroger, who owns HT, is fine with that. Now I go to Aldi and Fresh Market.

It was a KFC--the Wendy's is still operating a little farther south.

I do hope the new road helps stir business back up (I think it will). Lots of vacancies in the Brassfield shopping center as well. Not sure about a new-to-the-area grocery store on what is now a somewhat lonely stretch of Battleground. Also doesn't help that it sits the middle of a triangle of 3 well-established Harris Teeters (Westridge, New Garden and Battleground Oaks).

Being an interchange with Interstate 840 should open redevelopment opportunities. Battleground Avenue should have less through traffic in several years when Interstate 73 from Joseph M. Bryan Boulevard to Summerfield is completed.
