Can somebody please tell me how to get to greensboro from Cary 27560 the shortest way possible? I've heard there is a way that you can cut through and get to greensboro around zipcode 27455 in 45 mins? Thank you

I-40 will take you right to G'boro. I suggest Google maps for door to door directions.

If there was a way to do this in 45 min, I'd love to know. Google Maps puts travel time between those zips at around 1hr 20min without traffic on I-40 and the back roads take even longer.

Even taking the train is about an hour and that's from the Cary Amtrak to the GBO station not counting the time to get to your final destination.

I get the feeling someone was pulling your leg OR they were talking about just "Cary to Greensboro" (not the outlying areas you specified) which looks like you can do in just over an hour and makes me think if you were speeding quite a bit you *might* be able to pull off in 45 min with absolutely no traffic.

However, with the places you've indicated I think you're SOL.

I think this is the most likely scenario. You know how people are with directions. You tend to stretch the outer boundary a little. If you're talking about the easternmost part of Greensboro (or just outside, like out by the Mt. Hope Church Road exit) to, say, RTP (which some might lump in with Cary), yeah, you could do it in 45 with no traffic. Speed a little and you could start a little closer west and end up a little farther east. But coming from that part of Greensboro and going to Cary proper, you're looking at 1:15 or 1:30.

From the 27560 area code (which is Morrisville area), others here are correct that I-40 is the way to go.

I am wondering if you heard the way that some people from Apex get to Greensboro. ... In that case, some take 64 to Siler City and then hit 421. (I guess you could take 540 to 64 from your area code and do this too but I'd think 40 was still a better bet.)
