The City of High Point, North Carolina Planning and Development Commission will have a public hearing Tuesday, 8 December 2015 to rezone 13.2 acres at the southwest corner of North Main Street and Westchester Drive for a commercial center.

It is early in the process to have a store number. First, the rezoning request needs to be heard and approved. Second, Publix would need to officially announce the new store. After that, a store number would be be assigned in the design phase and bidding process.

Publix's new store number assignments are now in the 1500's.

So I guess if this happens, it would be behind Walgreen's at the Westchester/Main St intersection?

That is correct. Idol Street and Fisher Avenue would need improvements and possibly signalized intersections with Westchester Drive and North Main Street respectively.

I drove by the one on Miller St last week for the first time since the dirt being moved. It is indeed a cool design that stands out without being gaudy.

That is a good read.

A traffic signal is proposed for Westchester Drive and Idol Street. Truck traffic would likely come from North Main Street via Fisher Avenue.
