...oh, and believe it or not, I haven't tried Krispy Kreme...not the store, anyway. Every time I'm in the area, the light is off, and friends tell me to only go when the light is on...

The light usually comes on in the evening like around 6:30-8:45pm... so far that's been my experience. I know they do one really early too, so maybe 12 hour difference? good luck!

Best than Elizabeth's or New York pizza on Tate street.
I made a mental note of this and the family and I went there last night. Very good. We plan on going again.

I can only speak about the Northwest part of town, as I've not been adventurous enough to venture out too much. That will change!

Wall Street Deli - Tiny deli run by a Greek family out by the airport, awesome Gyros and Baklava. I work close by and eat there almost daily.
Mario's Pizza - Wendover Ave. near Circuity City. Run by Italians from NYC, awesome authentic pizza
Captain Bill's Seafood - West Market by the airport, everything is delicious and the owner is really nice!
Elizabeth's Pizza - Lots of locations, consistent quality
Fincastle's - My favorite downtown burger joint. Try the Fincastle burger and their homemade milkshakes.
Cook Out - The best burgers I've ever tasted. Try a huge Out West style with onion rings and a milkshake. In & Out doesn't come close.
Jason's Deli - West Friendly Ave. close to downtown. Cool set-up and great food, if a tad yuppie. It's right next to the nearly brand new Friendly Center shopping complex.

You should go to Ham's

P.s. The Saffron on Westover Terrace (Greensboro) has a lunch buffet that is to die for if you like Indian food and it won't kill your wallet. 3 plates (people) and water to drink, cost us only $16.76 before the tip. And we only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. It was *Delish*!!!

Also, try the wood-fired "Pizza Cappriciosa" at the Elizabeth's Pizza on North Battleground (by Horse Pen Creek Rd) and you will be just as addicted as I am. The business is family owned and the manager came out to our table to see how we liked our meal, himself.

The Chili's, though a chain, on High Point Rd has the best food of that sort, and the food was phenomenal as was the service at 8pm on a Saturday night recently. Couldn't ask for more. We left a nice tip and told the Mgr how pleased we were!

My favorites:
1). Steak Street-High Point.(Hwy 68 corridor toward Greensboro).
2). Lucky 32's-New Garden Road (Northwest Greensboro).

The food is always appetizing, well cooked, and the service is always great at both locations. Hope this helps.
