Hi, my family and I are moving to winston Salem from NY. We are looking to rent a house in a nice neighborhood, we have 2 young children. We found a house like we really like in salem woods, but can't find much info on the neighborhood. Any opinions would be appreciated

Its just east of Jonestown Road, south of Hanes Mall Boulevard,

OP, I don't know the neighborhood specifically, but its a generally nice area and I would think it would be a decent place.

I work just a few minutes but I'm also not familiar with the specific area, and agree that it's probably a pretty good area. Welcome, from another former NYer (I wised up and escaped 30+ years ago)

This is an older neighborhood with many homes that are 50+ years old, although there are some newer ones as well. It is not the nicest neighborhood in Winston Salem. Many of the homes are not very well maintained and a quick perusal of Zillow revealed many foreclosures. Prices go from the low 100's and many go for less. I'd keep looking, if I were you.

Hmmm? I don't agree with the above poster. Yes there are nicer area's. But there is nothing wrong with that location. In fact it is close to a lot of amenities. Good luck with your move.
