Hello,

I will be in NC for a short business trip very soon and was planning to take a day off and check out Greensboro neighborhoods as I plan to retire there. I am hoping to get some recommendations for a good buyer's agent. What I am looking for is different than the norm...small single family home, small lot size, small budget, walkable and safe neighborhood, don't care about school districts, etc. so am trying to find an agent that would be a good fit for that and show me a few neighborhoods so I can narrow down my focus to have them look for listings in the neighborhoods I like best.

Thanks for your recommendations.

Is your budget $100,000? Thats going to be tough in G'boro and W-S, too.

For a realtor, send a direct message to "Sue at the Rock" and ask her for a rec: Realtor Recommendations

There's also this rec from another poster: Greensboro/Winston-Salem to retire

Here I am.

That sounds exactly like my neighborhood. I'll message OP with the name.

There are a few options in the under $100K in Greensboro. However, they are either in low-income neighborhoods, or they have larger (quarter acre) lots and are not walkable. This one listing in the Rolling Road sub-division is walkable to three different Asian supermarkets, and it might be a safe area: 2122 Cheltenham Blvd. Interstate 40 is in its back yard with a sound barrier and trees. Can any locals comment on safety?

I bought in 2013. Anything 100K and under needed lots of work. I paid 125K for this house. 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, nice yard, and completely redone, plumbing and all. And I can walk to coffee. Not that I ever do
