Default Relocation Help!!

My husband and I are relocating to Greensboro for his job. Between the two of us we will be making about 100K a year and looking for a house in the 200-250K range. We want a clean, safe suburb of Greensboro with excellent schools, nice shopping, and that small community feel. Any information would be helpful!!

Northwest Greensboro and northwest Guilford County are great areas to look in. This includes Colfax, Oak Ridge, Summerfield and Stokesdale. Greensboro shopping and dining isn't far from these small towns.

There will be many options open to you in that price range, so do you want city taxes or county (read- LOWER) taxes? How far do you want to be from town? Would you rather have a large yard or small? How old a home? Do you mind HOA dues?

There are many variables in your price range, so let me know if I can help.

Thanks!

Looking for about 2500+ sf. with gameroom and at least a 1/3 of an acre yard. We are from Dallas, TX and our last house was $115,000 and the property tax was about $3200/year. I am not sure how North Carolina's property taxes rate compared to Texas. I don't mind HOA's because we were in one in Texas. My husband will be working in Greensboro and would want a commute time under 30 minutes. I just want to be close to some nice shops and restaurants, not out in the country, but to have a small town feel. Thanks for the help!

oh, we are open to all ages because we love to fix up homes and do renovations, but would like a more custom home if newer.
