I just saw this on the news. Their being tight lipped about details. Official announcement tomorrow morning. Anyone in the know have an idea what this could be?
Glad to see I'm not the only one pessimistic about that announcement.
Don't forget when a call center loses a contract employees lose jobs.
This won't do squat for the Lorillard (ITG) employees because their wages won't be replaced.
Its an expansion of call center. Big whoop. Low wage crappy jobs with almost no capital investment.
Yeah, call centers aren't worth doing jumping jacks over. There's a call center here in Danville, Telvista, and they always claim to be hiring...which in reality is due to their very high turnover rate.
From what I can deduce the jobs pay crap. News 2 said the company is being tight-lipped about the pay but did say there would be benefits.
I don't know about you but I think that screams crappy pay.
Just got a thought and a chuckle thinking about their hook, 800 jobs as in 800 number, call this 800 ya know.
