Greensboro Science Center to double size of zoo (Charlotte, Concord: 2015, theater)

The Greensboro Science Center is unique in that it has a museum, aquarium (Carolina Sciquarium) and zoo in one complex. It has attractions like Skywild, theater shows and an omnisphere theater, similar to IMAX dome theaters. It's has the largest aquarium in the piedmont. This evening the Science Center announced it will double the size of the zoo bringing in rare species, the NC zoo in Asheboro doesn't have. The center is also expanding the aquarium which is one of three in central NC. There are smaller aquariums in Concord Mills and the Discovery Place in Charlotte.
