Grandover West is a planned mixed use development locating around the intersection of West Gate City Boulevard, Guilford Church Road, and Jamestown Parkway in the Jamestown community of Guilford County, North Carolina. Potential uses include retail, restaurant, banking, office, medical, and institutional.

Grandover West site plan

Grandover West is not in the town of Jamestown. It appears annexation is proceeding.

The 20.09-acre "Site 1," the southeast quadrant of West Gate City Boulevard and Guilford College Road, may be a grocery-anchored retail center.

Greensboro is eventually going to swallow up Jamestown.

Not sure if it's incorporated or not.

I will save my comments on Greensboro and Jamestown's annexations for another thread.

I wonder if supermarket Publix or limited assortment/discount grocer Lidl may have interest in the trade area.

Jamestown was founded in 1816 and incorporated in 1947. It's much closer to High Point than Greensboro. Not going to be "swallowed up" by any other municipality.

I read elsewhere(and agree) that Publix is the most likely grocery anchor but some people are still thinking Trader Joe's will be there. I think TJ's is wishful thinking but it would be nice to have one closer than W-S.

The size of the grocery tenant and the inclusion of a pharmacy drive thru would help answer who the potential grocer is.

Publix is opening many 45m (45,000 square feet0, 49m (49,000 square feet), and 54m (54,000 square feet) stores with pharmacy drive thru.

On an only somewhat related note, we looked at Grandover homes when we were home shopping in 2011. The asking prices for the homes didn't seem unreasonable, but I was shocked at the taxes and the HOA fees - a combined $10k or so per year for a detached single family home.

I think Publix would be a good fit for a grocery store here. Btw most of this development will be within Greensboro city limits and a smaller part in Jamestown annexation territory based on where the city limits are on the Guilford County GIS website. This would be more in Greensboro than Jamestown and Koury Corp's website also lists the development address being in Greensboro. http://www.kourycorp.com/Portals/0/I...ochure%202.pdf

But development will be located where Greensboro city limits and Jamestown limits meet.

Default Publix, Grandover Village, Jamestown, North Carolina

Lakeland, Florida-based supermarket Publix Super Markets has announced it will open a 49,098-square-foot store at Grandover Village, previously known as Grandover West, in the fall. The Grandover Village store is Publix's forty-fourth store announced in North Carolina.
