Winston-Salem joins Charlotte and Raleigh in North Carolina, and Greenville and Spartanburg in South Carolina as cities in the Carolinas with bike share programs and stations.

Saw the stations over the weekend! Looking forward to giving it a try this week.

Cool. There must be an initiative in the area because I work at UNCG and they had an event today about the sharing. I was walking through campus and saw one of the stations. Pretty cool.

I think it's actually a coincidence that the Winston bikeshare and the UNCG bikeshare came online so close together. They're two different systems (UNCG's system is dockless and run through LimeBike, whereas Winston's uses docking stations and the Zagster app), and the Winston system is run through the National Cycling Center, which I don't believe has any connection with UNCG.

So I think it's a happy, bikey accident.

Took a spin on the bikeshare today, and it was great! Easy to use and convenient, once you get the hang of the lock/unlock process. And the bikes rode and handled pretty well.
