Eastway Plaza is a retail center located at the northwest quadrant of New Walkertown Road and North Graham Avenue in the City of Winston-Salem in Forsyth County, North Carolina. It is anchored by a supermarket, Food Lion #1044.

Food Lion #1044 appears to have opened originally as a BI-LO supermarket. BI-LO exited Winston-Salem in 2004. I wonder if BI-LO may have closed before 2004 and Food Lion #1044 opened shortly afterward.

Yeah, it was a Bi-Lo when it opened because the Food Lion used to be in the East Winston shopping center across the street where the Sav-A-Lot is currently. Also, the Bojangle's was in that older shopping center originally when I was a kid. I'm not sure when the Bi-Lo closed because I was probably living in Greenville at the time. I do know that most of the Bi-Los in town (there weren't many) closed prior to or shortly after me leaving for college in the late 90s. There used to be one near my high school on the south side and it's now a Food Lion.

The BI-LO at Eastway Plaza was built and opened around the mid-1990's, likely 1994 or 1995. BI-LO went to another store format in the late 1990's.
