Hi Everyone, I am looking to relocate to the Winston-Salem area in June. I will be graduating (at 37) with my BS in Psychology. I realize that in many cases a QMHP (2 years post grad) is needed in Case Management. I do have some previous experience but not post-grad. I was curious if anyone could offer tips/suggestions or even names of agencies in the area that will hire workers with their BS with opportunities to gain that 2 years experience. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also I'm looking in the Clemmons area to live...so far I've heard good things.

I'm no expert in this area, but from what I've gathered from my wife is that a master's is usually needed to do much with a Psych degree. You could check with the school systems to see what is required to work there. I know that all the schools have their own case workers. Hope that helps, at least a starting point. Also, have you checked with your schools advisors for suggestions or resources? Most colleges will provide you with good resources to help with placement or possible areas of employement, but I guess that depends on where you're relocating from. Good luck.

Yes, I know the real $$$ is with the Master's degree. But Case Workers can use a Bachelor's but there are different levels...Some places hire a Bachelor's with 2 years post-grad (QMHP) and some will let you get your experience on the job. My school is in Missouri... I have not checked with their out of state connections yet. I have noticed the states are different on their qualifications. I know the jobs are there...just finding the "right" agency. Thanks for your help....all is appreciated.
