Just because they are thinking about Nc what makes everybody assume they are gonna pick the Greensboro site?
My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with a girl who saw the Toyota/Mazda bigwigs touring the Liberty site. I guess it’s pretty serious. (I love Ferris Bueller's Day Off)
According to Bloomberg, Toyota has narrowed the states down to two and that's North Carolina and Alabama.
If the Greensboro megasite is selected, maybe Toyota/Mazda research operations can be set up at Gateway University Research Park and collaborate with NC A&T, a major engineering university, and UNCG.
Of the four mega sites there are only two that have a real shot at landing the Toyota plant. Forget about the Edgecombe County site. Too far away from skilled labor. The Chatham County site near Siler City is just too far away from Interstate highways and airports. That leaves the Greensboro-Randolph site and the Chatham County site near the Wake County line about 20 miles from Raleigh. Both site could work but the Greensboro site has the advantage being much closer to multiple interstates and can tap into more universities in both the Triad and Triangle. News reports have also stated the Greensboro mega site is the preferred site and its the only site where a lot of activity with helicopters, buses, ect have been going on.
"The other three mega-sites are near Siler City and Moncure in Chatham County and east of Rocky Mount in Edgecombe County. Jim Crawford, chairman of the Chatham County Commission, on Tuesday night said that the sites near Siler City and Moncure are no longer in the running for the plant, but they have submitted a bid for the new Amazon headquarters."
This means really only the Greensboro-Randolph megasite is left. So now we know where the plant is going if North Carolina beats out Alabama and its been reported by multiple sources that North Carolina is the favorite.

I sure hope so I'm just so used to Raleigh and Charlotte beating us to projects like this I have to wait and see.
