Countdown to NC move (Asheboro, Star: apartments, rental, credit issues)

The main obstacle im finding, is finding rental with poor credit despite earnings & rental history. Seems as soon as credit check is ran noone wants to talk to me. I have good job lined up as well as landlord reference. Any advice? Asheboro area.

I assume you're mostly applying to "corporate" apartments? Try finding something that an individual landlord owns, like on Craigslist.

Can you offer up a larger deposit or prepay a few to several months? That would help considerably.

Just you? Start with a share situation.
After six months of living and working locally... try again.

And during that time settle/remedy the worst credit issues.
But if the credit issues are about LL's you've stiffed at some point...

Start with a private landowner and be prepared to pay double security deposit.
