Hello everyone..

I was wondering if anyone would share their average monthly utilities expenses. Iím trying to create a buget spread sheet but would like some actual real numbers.

Example: electricity, cable, internet, phone, water, trash pick-up etc.. anything else I missed?🤔

Thank you all in advance! ❤️

Ps. Weí moving in June.

I added more information to my post which didn't get sent/saved for some reason.

Here is Greensboro's water and sewer rates: City of Greensboro, NC : Water and Wastewater Rates

Duke Power's basic rate is about 9.5 cents per KwH, with a $12 monthly base charge.

Cable/phone/internet will be $100 to $175

Trash is included with taxes/rent, I think.

You may (hopefully) have natural gas heat/hot water/oven.

Will you be in a house or apartment in G'boro? How big?

Natural gas for heat is cheaper then electricity? So confusing.

Yes we are looking to buy, 2000-2500sq ft.
How the units work with water? Iím not understanding the water and waste rates. 😓

Thank you so much for replying, you are always helpful!

Natural gas is much cheaper for heating than electricity. Keeps you more comfortable too.

Re water and sewer: 1 unit equals 748 gallons. A typical household of 2 will use about 3,000 gallons per month, plus or minus. Thats roughly 4 units. Inside the city limits of G'boro, you'll pay $26.16 per month. (As an aside, that is so cheap...where I live on the coast, that same 3,000 gallons costs almost $100 a month).

I would guess your electric bill for an all electric house would average $150 to $250 a month, higher in hot an cold months, lower in spring and fall.
