Hello!

My young family and I currently live in Florida and may be moving to North Carolina near the Charlotte / Greensboro area.

Can anyone suggest some family friendly cities and zip codes to start looking for rentals?

We prefer an elementary school with a score of 8 or higher.

We currently live in a planned community and would like to find something similar in North Carolina.

Thank you!

Do you realize that Charlotte and Greensboro are about 1.5 hours from each other? Are you trying to find something in the middle of those two cities, or are you looking anywhere between the two?

Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but... with a family at least one solid job comes first.

If your post is meant to imply that your family has at least one of those solid jobs on offer
(maybe in Charlotte and maybe 100 miles away in Greensboro too?) well, good for you!

Post back with the closest main intersection to that job and maybe your starting list of
properties nearby... then people familiar with the location will have something to lock on to
when they suggest (or disparage) X vs Y.

First off I'd like to say thanks for the replies!

I appreciate the concern for my family but, the reason for the move would be relocation due to my job.

We are looking for somewhere with a real community feel.
A+ Schools and plenty of activities such as farmers markets, food trucks, breweries ect..

This is the area I would like to be near for work purposes..
The markers are locations I would visit on a monthly basis.
I tried to post a picture but, I had no luck. Here's a link of the map. http://ibb.co/ejFk6S

I'd recommend western Winston-Salem or western Greensboro areas. In W-S, look at the Meadowlark Elementary School district and the Oak Ridge Elementary or Summerfield Elementary districts in G'boro.

If I understand the map, you'll be visiting one location in the Charlotte area, a few in the Triangle, and several in the Triad. That makes the Triad the logical choice, so I agree with Winston-Salem or Greensboro. Personally, I'd probably pick something assigned to Oak Ridge schools. What's your budget?
