It looks like there's an NC folk festival this year though in Greensboro:

Yep. National Folk Festival's two-year run is over, but GSO is keeping it going as the NC Folk Festival.

Only hippies like folk music? And they moved to Greensboro because a festival was there for a week? I'm confused.

I am too. As one of the originals, I think I know one when I see one.

funny how I was reading a article the other day online and it was talking about a hip new drink trend called Kumbachie (not sure how to spell it). Anyway I ended up going to Deep Roots Market and guess what.. they were giving samples of the stuff. Glad I got to try it out but the taste wasn't for me I'll pass on that trend! Anyway my point is, is that we get the trends here!!!

Kombucha Wouldn't call it a new trend, as people have been brewing it for at least a couple hundred (and possibly a couple thousand, depending on what history you read) years.

There are at least a dozen kombucha brewers in NC. UpDog is based in Winston-Salem and I've encountered it pretty regularly. (Kombucha's not really my thing, if I'm honest.)

But yeah, Deep Roots definitely has an Asheville vibe.
