Hi, this is a great forum! my husband will be relocating next spring to Greensboro and we are looking for a young neighborhood with the best elementary schools. We have narrowed down the search to OakRidge or the Summerfield area and would like more info regarding the neighborhoods of Lake Jeanette/Lake Brandt. We like the idea of raising the 2 little ones near water, walking trails etc. CT is sooooooooooo cold, we are looking forward to visiting NC and welcoming Greensboro as our new home. Any info would be fabulous!

When you're in the area, you may want to take a look at Jamestown too. Jamestown is around 10 miles SW of downtown Greensboro. Hiking trails in Gibson Park & High Point Lake.

Smile Lake Jeanette

Hi,
We live in the Northern Shores developement of Lake Jeanette and absolutely love it! The developement is beautiful with walking trails everywhere, fishing, tennis and lakes and gas lights in front of every home here in Daybreak Square. There are a few homes for sale in our area-what's great is that prices will vary but usually start in the 4's and go up from there. There are homes of every size, but all are lovely. I also love the fact that we have city water and sewer. You can get larger properties in other areas but you may have to deal with septic- we weren't really interested in that. Ask your realtor to drive you around the area-good luck in your search!!

Default Welcome to Greensboro

You've found some great areas. Oak Ridge and Summerfield are great towns with good schools, but the sense of community will depend on the subdivision you are in. Lake Jeanette is closer to GSO proper and has everything you say you are looking for, plus city services like water and sewer. Taxes are higher, but sometimes you get what you pay for.

Good luck!
