Default Drive to Charlotte?

Hi Greensboro forum

Could you please tell me how long of a drive it would be to Charlotte. My son, 15, loves pro basketball, but I am choosing to move to Greensboro over Charlotte. How long does it take to drive to Charlotte from Greensboro?

It really depends on what part of Greensboro you are leaving from and what part of Charlotte you are heading too.
The average time is a hour and half down I85.
It is ok drive maybe once a weekend but to do it more frequent it is very gruelling and gets old fast to do it on regular basis.

To check out a Bobcats game you should do ok.
In the Uptown park in 7th Street Station parking garage it right next to the stadium and decent parking price.
Definitely add game traffic to the estimated time.
I find gas to be a little cheaper in Thomasville

lol I dont know if you always been living in Greensboro but the traffic in Charlotte is intense. A good latte should do you fine lol.

If you take 85 here are some tips to help ease your driving here.
When you see I77 approaching up ease over into the right lane. I generally do this after the Statesville Rd exit. When you exit onto 77 stay in the far left lane the exit will fork 2 lanes south and 2 lanes north.
It is a sharp curve take it easy and ignore the people on your bumper.

When you are off that exit ramp the road will bust out into a bunch of lanes of traffic that is moving very swiftly. Slowly merge over to the right lane. Do not do this immediately to do it safely you will have two miles to merge all the way into the right lane onto 277 if you take that highway.
