I Almost forgot about Dell. Seems like a long time ago. Doesn't Lenovo still make computers east of Greensboro city limits? It was also the first Lenovo factory in the United States.

"E-commerce giant Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) has opened its long-awaited fulfillment center in Kernersville at 1656 Old Greensboro Road. The company welcomed hundreds of employees inside the 1 million-square-foot building on July 19 to mark its first day of operation. After a morning of learning and activities activities, associates received the first item into the new building: a pillow.

Amazon announced earlier this month that it had begun hiring for the Kernersville center, branded GSO1. When fully staffed, the center will employ more than 1,000 full-time associates who will pick, pack and ship larger-sized items to customers across the region, including bulk paper goods, sports equipment, pet food and supplies, electronics and household goods.

Amazon Logistics also recently signed a lease and plans to open a new Kernersville delivery station at 1610 Old Greensboro Road, which will facilitate Amazon’s last-mile delivery capabilities to customers in Forsyth County. The company said the last-mile facility will employ hundreds of full-time and part-time workers. It is scheduled to open this year."

Lenovo started its Whitsett laptop/desktop assembly operation in 2013 with 115 employess within an existing fulfillment center. Did a quick search and didn't find info on current employment numbers. On Indeed, the company gets mixed reviews as an employer.
