Census data from 2017 shows more millennials moved to Greensboro over cities like Raleigh and Austin.

Not bad. Ranked 18th of top 25 cities.

This is old (from July) and was previously discussed here. I forget the details, but I know the title was somewhat misleading and the methodology was a bit screwy I think.

Totally different study from the one in this thread(assuming this is what you were referring to): Millenials flocking to Winston and Greensboro According to recent studies.

That study took into account a few factors like homeownership, jobs, affordability, etc

The one I posted is strictly a ranking based strictly on net migration. (see here): https://smartasset.com/mortgage/wher...re-moving-2019

I will say, it shows a consistent pattern that even using different methodology, Greensboro ranked high on both lists.

This is a reflection of the changes that are happening in Greensboro and Winston-Salem today. Both cities have turned the corner.

Does it have statistics on what area they are moving to? I'm assuming it's downtown or in that general concentrated area.

It doesn't go that deep but downtown is no doubt a hot market.

The Fact that i seen this coming so many years ago, as other cities become more expensive, Greensboro is that perfect balance of large city amenities, low cost of living and a growing job market. that's attractive to alot of people, explaining the recent jumps in migration.

It's not rocket science why people are choosing here to live or to start businesses now. it was only a matter of time.

Agreed, fast growth areas are getting expensive, but Charlotte continues to be an anomaly. That age group is still flocking there in large numbers. Greensboro has made some significant changes over the past 15 years or so.
