There are plenty of apartments to choose from up and down Wendover Avenue and near the intersection of Wendover and Eastchester (RT. 68). Some of them are quite new and look well cared for.
We live in North High Point. We find it very convenient to everything and it feels safe here. Drive up Eastchester towards the airport and you will see lots of new businesses and areas of expansion. Also drive Wendover from interstate 40 to Eastchester. It's a well developed area and many apts. are located there. I don't think you could go wrong renting in this area. We rented for a year before we bought a home so we could get a feel for the area and see if we would like it long term. Good luck! |

Hi, I have a very similar situation. I have got a job at High Point University and will be moving in the Triad area with my family (wife and 7 month old daughter). I am Ok with 20-25 min commute. Looking for an apartment initially and after few months I would like to buy home. Is it possible to get some specific names of apartments in a safe decent area, e.g. as mentioned in the post above. I am lookin for a 2 bed 2 bath apartment inside $800. Is it possible to get some? Any feedback on Laurel Springs apartments in Old Plank Road? Find High Point apartments and homes for rent in North Carolina at Laurel Springs.
Thanks in advance for your reply. |

BostonDoc, I also moved to the Triad area from Boston - last year. Looked at the High Point area, but decided to buy in Oak Ridge. Country, lots of land and nice new homes. Would be an easy commute to High Point 25-30 minutes.

The are newer apartments in NE High Point which may be worth looking into. NE High Point provides easy access into Greensboro. There is no "straight shot" into High Point from Greensboro so be warned that traffic can be frustrating during peak hours in Greensboro. If can avoid peak traffic commutes from the areas listed by other posters are not bad. BTW, if you are looking for a home we would love to sell you ours.

Jamestown is nice. Six miles from High Point and 12 miles from Greensboro.

Jamestown, NC is a short drive from High Point Regional. I would say you could be there in less than 15 minutes with heavy traffic. Also, jamestown has lower taxes and utility rates than Greensboro and High Point. The town website is www.jamestown-nc.gov.
