Anyone in the Greensboro area able to supply me with any info regarding a body-building contest this weekend, April 18-20?
My Father plans to drive up from the coast tomorrow morning so he can see his trainer at the gym he likes, compete in a body-building contest? I think he said the 'show' is Saturday evening.
I am sure I will need to drive him from Raleigh to Greensboro tomorrow so he can make the contest/show, so any info would be greatly appreciated, ie. driving time to allow, how easy it will be to find this place, etc.
I hope you have fun. NC has several contest through the year. I would be interesting in going but I think I would get bored fast (im not into watch beauty contests) and I think my partner might get jealous.
I found the competition at the Carolina Theatre in downtown Greensboro. It wasn't bad, but I think being with my silly sister, who brought our Dad up from the Coast, saved me from being bored.
I can appreciate what these people do, and the dedication, just like I can appreciate the effort anyone puts into a hobby, interest, pastime, etc., but it doesn't necessarily appeal to me. Still, Dad was happy to see his own trainer compete, and she did well -- she won her level of competition, and took second overall in her particular division. She's also a nice girl, and I am glad she looks out for my Dad. She has him working-out 2-3 times a week, and eating healthy.
Great. Just great. My Dad told his trainer -- who he came up to see in the contest in Greensboro -- that he wanted to mix-up his routine, maybe buff-up a little. He wants to compete in the over 70 group. He's already asked my sister about taking him to another show in Charleston, SC, in the coming weeks.
We have created a m-o-n-s-t-e-r, catering to his whims. We'll be traveling all over with this 78-year-old man who wants to sport his stuff in a speedo.
