Hi All,

I will be interviewing next month at High Point Regional Medical center. My job involves on call, odd hrs and late night shifts. What are the best and safest communities near the hospital. Prefer 3-4 miles, so that I can be on-call from home. Price range 300-500K, around 3000+sqft

Thanks

Not really, but hopefully some other posters can. Or really, a good realtor would be your best resource.

You could go on up to the northern side of High Point but another good option based on your criteria that would be closer is Emerywood, which is to the northwest of the hospital, particularly the area close to High Point Country Club. If you're talking about a budget of up to $500K, anything in that price range in that direction is going to be in a good area that's convenient to the hospital and other amenities. Many doctors/dentists, etc. live in that area. Examples include:

OP didn't mention schools, but he should investigate them if he looks at Emerywood and they are an issue for him. Even if he doesn't have children, they will effect resale.

Andrews High School, as opposed to HP Central.

If there's a little flexibility in the 3-4 mile range, Southwest Guilford would also be good.

For instance, there's Peaceford Meadows (about 7 miles away) where you'll find these listings....

A little closer in Mendenhall Mill (near Jamestown and about 5 miles away) you'll find...

And in Heathgate, which is less than 3 miles away, you'll find...

But quite frankly, with your budget, you should do well in you search in the High Point area.
