I was wondering if someone could give me some advice...i was wanting to plant a couple fruit trees in our backyard. Would like to do maybe lemon or orange? Didn't know if Greensboro, NC had climate for citrus trees or when to plant?

The closest thing you are going to get to that kind of fruit is Peaches and that is if they can survive winter or the late frost this area usually gets.
Apples and grapes are your better bet |

Other than trees like trifoliate orange, citrumelo, or yuzu, you probably won't have too much luck. The hardiest citrus trees with edible fruit, such as Satsuma oranges, may survive with winter protection (see Mckenzie-Farms).
Some apples, pears, persimmons, peaches, plums, nectarines, and other trees should do well. Shrubs and vines like grapes, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, etc. also grow well. |
