Question Davie County Sub Divisions or....

Hi,
Can anyone familiar with Davie County tell me if there are any nice acre + sub divisons or areas for building a retirement home ? Somewhere in the $400,000-$450,000 range for land and home ? We would be looking to build a roughly 2500-2700 sq ft all brick ranch style house. Somewhat close to excellent healthcare ?

Thanks, Bill

East side of the county, primarily along an area of 801 south of I-40 to highway 64. You’ll find the high end subdivisions of Bermuda Run (gated) and Oak Valley, but you probably won’t find the large lot you require. Along Underpass Road (where there is currently a lot of tornado damage) and People’s Creek, there are clusters of houses on large lots built in your price range. In other parts of the county you’ll find available land, but there isn’t the stringent zoning that has been foisted by the influence of Bermuda Run, so you might find yourself within sight range of some run down and lower-priced houses. Also, in the Bermuda Run/Kinderton area (where 801 and I-40 intersect) there are plans for a new hospital, if the state can decide between the competing interests of Novant and Wake Forest Baptist. You can follow the progress via the Davie County Enterprise

Move to Davie County's best kept secret...Pudding Ridge

Pudding Ridge Golf Course. ALL homes are on the golf course and there are a few lots left. The entire neighborhood only has about 20-30 homes at the most. You are only about 20-25 minutes away from Hanes Mall area in Winston-Salem (where everything is) and the same distance to EXCELLENT Healthcare at hospitals in Winston-Salem...and less than 4 miles off of I-40 (Farmington Rd exit).

From Winston-Salem take I-40 West to exit #174 (Farmington Rd). Turn Right and go about 2-2 1/2 miles and turn Left on Pudding Ridge Rd and go about 1-1 1/2 miles to a Left on Cornwalis Dr. into Pudding Ridge.

My parents retired and moved to Bermuda Run West which is much newer than the old Bermuda Run. They wish now they would have built in Pudding Ridge due to the quantness & friendly neighborhood of Pudding Ridge.

GOOD LUCK!

Default Thank You

silverwing and 7 oh 4, I will do a search and see what I can find on those areas and maybe take a ride through there this weekend. I think I'm allergic to tornados though, LOL.
