I'm considering moving to Greensboro with my two children and husband - when I went to check out the area for myself I have to say I was very happy with what I saw and the people I met. On my way back home a young girl sat next to me on the plane who was a serious drug addict who was on her way to rehab. She mentioned ALL her friends were into drugs and how she didn't know anyone who wasn't into doing drugs, when I asked where she lived she did say Greensboro - Is Drugs use a huge issue with teens there?

Wow! That sucks, but guess what? Drugs are everywhere. Small towns, big cities, in the ghettos, in the suburbs. There is no escaping them. The key is teaching your children about drugs and peer pressure, and showing them every chance you get about the dangers of drug use...movies, reality shows, books, pictures, whatever it takes. Scare the crap out of them! We have to keep our teenagers busy and encourage them to follow their passions..sports, writing, art, whatever....Boredom breeds trouble.

Depends on who the kids hang out with. If they are smart, they hang out with smart kids that don't throw their life under the bus with drugs.

I think no matter where you go you will find drugs, growing up I lived in nice suburban neighborhoods and smaller towns where you thought there would be less drugs, but it was the opposite. But drugs are everywhere and in the long run it comes down to your kid.
