Default lewisville, clemmons what other areas??

hi..

I am trying to broaden my search we will be visiting again in August....we had looked at homes in Johnston county back in February.

What is the area like in lewisville/Clemmons ? I've found some beautiful homes....we have 3 boys ages 13, 10, 5 so the schools are a huge issue.....we've ruled out wake county for that reason.

What is the situation with the schools in this area? Is there redistricting? do they have assigned schools to your address>

We are basiclly looking for a min 4br famroom, lr/study, bonus with some property...we dont need a large lot but would like the option to put a pool in and still have some grass for the kids to play on......as I said schools are huge for us w/music and sports programs I'd like to stay in the mid to low $300's if possible...

We are coming down after my husband retires early so commuting isnt an issue...he'll find something to keep him busy and make extra $ wherever we wind up.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated since I dont have much info on this area and am just starting to broaden the search

thanks in advance

-Suzanne

Clemmons/Lewisvile would be perfect for what it sound liek you are looking for. They aer basically urban prawl of Winton-Salem. They both have pretty good schools with one being mostly West Forsyth High and the other being Reagan High. You could probably get a very nice 4 Br house on an acre or more for that price range.
I definitely recommend using NC School Report Cards to compare different schools.

thanks for the response......what about Kernersville? I've found some nice homes online that seem to fit our needs....

Hopefully we'll be down there in 3 weeks to check out the area....

Some people like Kernersville b/c it's inbetween Winston Salem and Greensboro. I tend to question the schools in the area however.

I would also check into the north Davidson area (Ledford, Midway, & Arcadia). Schools are good and the home lots are pretty big (at least an acre). Taxes are also lower so you can get more home for the money.
