Moving
So I am finally moving down this weekend to GSO.
I was in town last weekend and got a 1 bedroom on Battleground Ave.
Thanks to all who replied to my posts.
Now I have a couple more questions.
Does anyone know what the Korean population is like in GSO? I've googled a couple churches. Wikipedia states that there are 2000 to 3000 in the area. I saw Seoul Garden and the food store that is next to it on Market St. I heard there was another Korean market in town that was bigger.
I went by downtown Saturday night and was impressed by the scene. I was expecting much less. Columbus, OH has had a nice downtown scene develop over the past 5 years. Downtown GSO looked like a very minature version of it. I hope it is growing.
Any good indie/alt rock stations in the area?

The College radio stations are your only avenue for indie/alt rock. 103.1 and 90.9.

Yeah, radio station options here pretty much suck, in my opinion. I can't believe there's a city this size that doesn't have a devoted rock station... The only things I've found that come close are classic rock stations that occassionally (rarely) play more modern rock or anything harder than "soft rock."
Satellite Radio here I come! lol

I had Satellite Radio in greensboro, until they shut down a repeater and then reception was so spotty that I had o cancel it. May depend where you are, my friend did not have the same problem. I listen to lastFM.com for free now and happy with that. Also, there is the slacker portable that looks interesting.

Uh oh, what areas were you versus your friend?
I commute between Battleground Ave & Cotswold and Stanley Rd & W Wendover Ave. Usually take Wendover to get between, though sometimes Guilford College/New Garden is better.

27408. My friend was just a mile away in the same zip code. You will probably be fine.
