Hmm. Changes?

I'd plant a nice big fat blue building with yellow lettering here. With plenty of parking. The letters would read IKEA.

I would wave my hand and there'd be more/better grocery stores. (Why aren't there Krogers here like in Durham/Raleigh?)

I would eradicate crime. Of course.

I'd lower HOA fees in all developments. How ridiculous how high some of them are!!! (I'll cut my own grass, thank you.)

I would knock down the Bojangles establishment and replace them with Popeyes. (Hey, no offense. But red beans & rice are sorely missed.)

I'd get someone to mop the floors of the W. Wendover Wal-Mart (for a change).

I'd build bigger, more delicious libraries.

The older homes would NOT consist mostly of one bath ramblers but 2-story homes...

All real estate (listing) agents would put the prices of homes in their ads so that we/I wouldn't have to call them and ASK them to look up home prices or bathroom numbers while we sit on our cell phones and their computer "freezes up" only to have them then ask that dreaded question, "Are you working w/ anyone?" Just give me the price of the home, please, and the number of bathrooms

Politics? Better recycling program? Police in random SUV's? Those are whole other subjects for another time...

Thank God I'm just passing through.

We used to have Krogers stores, but they closed down several years ago.

I've had Bojangles and Popeyes (recently in Arkansas). I like Bojangles chicken much better. The Popeyes chicken I had wasn't nearly as flavorful.

I totally agree about the Wal-Mart on Wendover. I never go there because of the lack of cleanliness and because it's way too crowded.

I've been doing a lot of looking at houses online lately. (We're moving to northwest Greensboro or an area close to it in two years and I want to keep an eye on the market.) They all have their prices listed there. Have you tried looking online? Maybe you'd get more information that way.

I've seen a lot of police in unmarked SUVs. They're usually black with tinted windows. They stay mainly on 40 and 85.

Bojangles is definately for the win, and I thought for sure I saw a popeys somewhere near by. I know there is a Church's chicken which people from out west rave about, but I've found to be pretty nasty.

For the walmart on wendover, always select that the store wasnt clean when you are checking out. You are usually asked on the swipe machine if the store is clean or if the cashier is nice. Probally isnt making much of a difference but its better than just talking about it.

If I'm not mistaken, there's a Popeye's in Burlington. I don't think I've ever seen one in Greensboro, but it's possible.

Default If I could change something about the Triad?

Gone are the days when the Triad was mostly made of small cities with a laid back lifestyle. Today, developers and transplants are creating another Charlotte. In a few years, with all of the road construction(away from Downtown) the cities will merge together and form a big city. What should we call it? Winston-Boro-Point perhaps? Since it is headed in that direction, I would change the way we plan for the future. The Triad needs to start building light rail that will connect PTI, Greensboro, Winston and High Point.
Until the light rail is built, lets not just allow developers to build anywhere they wish. Look at Northern Virginia. Its better to plan now for the next 25 years than just let it happen and then decide to do something about growth.

So many things I would change...the sprawl is awful!! I would love to have a place to take my kids camping, fishing and swimming (all in one place) here in town. I work so much I just don't really have the time for the long drives.... Where's all the water?? Somebody mentioned Ikea. That would be nice, but the population just doesn't warrant it. Next summer we'll only have to drive as far as Char. that's cool. Atlanta was just a bit much, hmmm? Oh I know!!!!!!!! Let's synchronize the stoplights. Imagine how much time and gas would be saved without all that stop and go traffic. Who's in charge of that anyway? DOT? Get it right boys! How 'bout some really good authentic Mexican Restaurants? Las Estrellas is pretty good, but a loooooong darn drive from my house. Capital S-P-R-A-W-L. Maybe a good Mexican rotissery, life Pollo Feliz? Yummmm. Healthy, not just burritos/tacos/enchiladas and beans loaded with lard. Who's in charge of that? And yes, fewer liberals. They always want to know who's in charge of stuff. The answer is WE ARE! Make a better town without regulating yourselves to death. If you want to open a really great Mexican restaurant let me know. I have some menu ideas.... And if you know where to get great AUTHENTIC Mexican in North Winston...please advise.
Starvin'!

I agree. This was my first thought when the question was asked.
