Default Walkertown

Just rented a place on the border of Walkertown and Winston Salem--literally right on the border. Would have liked a more rural setting but we'll only be renting for a year until we find a permanent address and the rental property has a ton of interior space plus sits on some serious acreage so we just couldn't pass it up. Hoping we made a good choice and the area will be safe. I know a few miles south into Winston Salem the area gets a bit seedy but Walkertown seems nice. Any thoughts?

I think you probably did just fine. It sounds like you found a gem. I've never lived out there, but until recently, I kept one of my horses at a farm a few miles out Hwy 158 past the shopping center where Sheetz is located. The area seems to be growing, but at a sane pace. I've heard good things about Walkertown Elementary.
