Don't know how far you want to go, but we ALWAYS went to a place between Roaring Gap and Sparta on US 21. It is on Brush Creek Road (NC 1471) turn right about 2.5 miles from Old Beau golf course in Roaring Gap. The road is just before Cherry Lane Fire Department which is on the left.
Easily accessible by car, and I would say you drive down 5 or so miles on Brush Creek Road after turn. You will see the farm, on the right, before you get to a turn off Brushy Creek.
Once you get in that area, there are LOTS of Christmas Tree farms, and you will be tickled by ALL the cars you will meet with trees on the top.
We are in New Bern now, and did not go this year, but when we lived in Huntersville, that was our place.
